Dr Harry Lewis

Dr Harry Lewis is an Assistant Professor of Social and Environmental Psychology in the Department of Psychological and Behavioural Science at LSE. He holds a PhD in Social Psychology from the University of Sussex, where his thesis explored the potential for alternative representations of climate activist identities to broaden public support for environmental protest. He also holds an MA in Social and Political Thought from the University of Sussex and an MSc in Psychology from Manchester Metropolitan University.

Broadly, Harry's research examines the capacity of groups to shape individual and collective responses to novel social phenomena, with a particular focus on societal transformation in response to climate change. His research has spanned a variety of social contexts, including immersive and participatory arts practice, live music events, online communities and protest action. Drawing on his background in philosophy, Harry's work adopts a multidisciplinary perspective, utilising mixed-methods to explore socially-oriented solutions to complex social problems.
