Hao received his PhD from the Department of Media and Communications at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) in May 2026, under the supervision of Professors Bingchun Meng and Shakuntala Banaji. His thesis is titled: All Time, No Time: The Post-socialist Rhetoric and Embodied Experiences of Working Temporalities in Urban China (Shenzhen, 2023–2024)
