About
George Rushworth is a Research Assistant in Economics in the Policy Hub of the Huth Initiative for a New Political Economy (HINPE). He analyses data across economics, politics, education and health; commissions, edits and writes data-led pieces on political economy; and helps run the Hub’s seminars and policy engagement.
He recently completed an MSc in Inequalities and Social Science at LSE, following a BSc in International Social and Public Policy and Economics, also at LSE, for which he was shortlisted for the John Hills Prize. His research interests are in financial behaviour and political economy. His data visualisation project 'The Two Cycles of AI' was shortlisted for the Playfair Prize in 2026, and his undergraduate dissertation was published in the Department of Social Policy Working Paper series.
Before joining the School of Public Policy, George worked with Professor Anne West in the Department of Social Policy, co-authoring papers on school admissions, and as a Market Research and Intelligence Assistant benchmarking UK universities against LSE.
