Dr Claire Forbes is Guest Teacher in the Department of Media and Communications at LSE.
Dr Forbes combines academic and professional practice in communications. She has a PhD in Islamic Studies from the University in Kent, which takes a Bourdieusian approach to exploring the use of public relations in the construction of Islam in the UK public sphere. She has an MA in Islamic Studies from Birkbeck College and a BA (Hons) in Religious Studies from Newcastle University.
Dr Forbes's professional practice in communications spans over 20 years in the public and not-for-profit sectors. Currently, she works as Senior Director of Corporate Communications for a non-ministerial government department in the UK.
