Catherine is a trained linguist with a PhD in English from the University of Bordeaux. She also has a Master of Arts from the Royal College of Art in London. This led her to teach cultural studies and supervise dissertation students at Central Saint Martins College of Art as well as teaching French for many years.

Catherine has taught French at the LSE Language Centre since 2000 as well as at the French Institute in London since 2002. She specialises in teaching French as a Foreign Language, and for Specific Purposes, namely for diplomats at the Foreign and Commonwealth Office, and for students in Higher Education. She has a special interest in French and British culture, society, art and language.
