About

Dr Bethan Morgan is an academic, executive educator and organisational researcher whose work explores how leadership, organisational behaviour and institutional change can create more inclusive, innovative and high-performing workplaces. She teaches postgraduate and executive programmes at leading universities and organisations internationally.

Bethan’s research focuses on inclusive leadership, psychological safety, organisational change and the behavioural dynamics that enable individuals and organisations to thrive during periods of transformation. Drawing on qualitative and mixed-methods research, she examines how leadership behaviours, organisational routines and institutional environments shape collaboration, learning and innovation. Working closely with businesses, public sector organisations and higher education institutions, her research aims to develop practical, evidence-based approaches that improve organisational performance while fostering more inclusive cultures.

Alongside her academic research, Bethan has extensive experience designing and delivering executive education for senior leaders across the private and public sectors. She has worked with organisations including Novo Nordisk, Atkins and the Construction Industry Training Board, developing highly interactive programmes on leadership, organisational change, sustainability and digital transformation. She is also a qualified Harvard Business School case-method instructor and has authored several internationally published teaching cases.

Prior to her academic career, Bethan held senior leadership roles in industry, including Director of Research and Innovation at Constructing Excellence, where she secured and led major collaborative research programmes bringing together industry, government and academia. Earlier roles at DEGW and Arup provided first-hand experience of organisational change, innovation and leadership within complex professional environments, informing the practice-based perspective that underpins her research today.

Bethan’s research has been published in leading international journals including Project Management Journal, Technovation, Environmental Innovation and Societal Transitions, Journal of Cleaner Production and Construction Management and Economics. Her work has received international recognition, including the Project Management Journal Most Downloaded Paper Award, and continues to explore how organisations can build psychologically safe, inclusive environments that enable people, teams and organisations to perform at their best.
