Ambrin Shafiq

Ambrin Shafiq is a Research Assistant in Economics at the Huth Initiative for a New Political Economy (HINPE). She completed a MPP at the Hertie School and a BA in Philosophy, Politics and Economics from the University of Oxford. Her research has drawn on quantitative methods to examine questions in social and public policy, with a focus on social inequality and community cohesion.

Prior to joining the Huth Initiative, she worked as a Policy Officer at the Health Equality Foundation, with a focus on inequalities in women’s health. Her master’s thesis examined policies responding to Violence Against Women and Girls, building on previous campaigning in this area.
