Interview-background

Our Impact

We conduct research that strives to be openly accessible, unencumbered by paywalls, and available to diverse audiences in ways that resonate with their needs.

When the knowledge generated by our research contributes to, benefits and influences society, culture, our environment and the economy

Our efforts aim to reach privileged and less privileged audiences of all kinds, often through partnerships with a mosaic of supportive institutions and people:

  • community-based organisations
  • educational institutions
  • social movement groups
  • advocacy organizations
  • start-ups
  • local, state, and international organisations
  • research participants
  • students
  • the broader public.

We believe impact is two-way street. We invite diverse actors into our projects, learning from them and, where possible, co-designing projects, methods, findings and recommendations with them.

We also disseminate our research through engagement activities of all kinds.

We aim to be responsive to the questions, needs and interests of those who need evidence to advance a cause in the interests of public knowledge, and pragmatic in view of our privileged position as researchers to ensure our ideas and insights reach those with the power to take effective action.
