How was your experience of studying at LSE?
I am deeply grateful for my LSE experience. I learned so much from my professors and peers as well as during the various talks that LSE holds on a regular basis. The diversity of perspectives that I got to experience heavily shaped my learnings and taught me how to understand a concept from different standpoints. The program was challenging in all the right ways and I felt supported throughout my time here.
Tell us about your career journey after graduating.
I joined strategy consulting immediately after graduating. It was challenging, but I was able to gain incomparable client facing experience and learn how to present directly to C-suite executives of Fortune 500 companies. I started my career post-LSE at Deloitte as a technology and transformation consultant and then transitioned within the firm to a global role in growth & sales, working on how to drive up our win rates and stay ahead of the curve to better position Deloitte in the competitive market. Currently, I work at WPP as part of their strategy team.
What’s the best piece of career advice you have received?
Don’t underestimate the role of a career mentor. They have been in your shoes before and have accumulated experience, achieved success and made mistakes. Learn from them and don’t be afraid to ask questions!
What’s the greatest challenge you had to overcome?
At the beginning of my career, I was overwhelmed by the number of lessons, opportunities and the career pace that comes with being a consultant. It was hard to strike the right “work/life balance”. However, with time, I learned how to prioritize, delegate and categorize different tasks. I also learned the importance of intentionally carving out time to pursue hobbies outside of work.
What is your greatest achievement?
From a career perspective, my biggest achievement would be leading one of our largest strategic sales program for our global leaders. It allowed us to drive up firm win rates by optimizing our global GTM strategy through sales teams training and mentorship. The program was scaled and piloted in different geographical regions including US, EMEA and APAC.
From a personal perspective, starting to write more creatively as a hobby and finding the courage to publish it was a big milestone for me!
What is your fondest memory of your time at LSE?
When the weather is warm, sitting outside in the sun with friends in Lincoln’s Inn Fields. It was truly the best type of study break (and a great way to get your vitamin D in).
