Study Skills & Resources

You are at LSE because you have a strong foundation in mathematics, demonstrated by your A Level results. However, studying mathematics at university requires a different set of study skills and ways of thinking. The books below offer useful guidance to help you make this transition:

There are also many websites offering study skills advice that you may find helpful. We recommend exploring the resources below, as well as our own Study Skills for Mathematics pages.

  • Success in Mathematics - an American resource with a wide range of mathematics specific study advice
  • Maths Centre - provides materials to support your learning, including refreshers on key A level topics and resources tailored to different learning styles.

We also encourage you to find a study partner or join a study group to support your learning.
