I am an international technology professional from Toronto, currently holding the role of Senior Client Director at Microsoft in the UK. I am also the recipient of Exceptional Global Talent in Technology award, which has enabled me to contribute to UK’s tech sector in multiple ways throughout my time in London. For example, alongside my primary role, I am a mentor at Microsoft for Startups, advising on strategy and growth. I am also a board member at eye4change, a social enterprise in London focusing on using the creative medium to empower disadvantaged and marginalised youth

Why did you choose to study the EGMiM programme?

Prior to LSE I worked in technology in variety of roles. I wanted a unique experience, that would elevate my professional and personal journey. Joining LSE was an easy decision, specifically due to:

  1. The university's world-renowned global brand and London base.
  2. The LSE take on an MBA has a unique approach to business, specifically focused on economics, global business and foreign direct investing.
  3. The format of the programme, which is aimed at those who have had multiple years of experience within their sector whilst allowing for full time work.

How has EGMiM benefitted your life/career?

I relocated to London about seven years ago from Toronto. LSE was an enabler for this move and the experience has been an important milestone for me personally and professionally in many ways. I started at Microsoft five years ago, holding various roles in the organisation throughout my tenure. As part of my degree, my dissertation at LSE had a focus on the impact of AI in society which I’ve been able to build on at a company like Microsoft, who are a clear leader in this space. Years after LSE, I continue to build an exciting career in technology. In my current role at Microsoft, I lead strategic commercial partnerships with some of the largest enterprises in UK, helping them through organisational transformation, embracing AI and setting up for sustainable growth.

What was the most challenging aspect of the programme?

Balance – As the programme is aimed at working professionals, it requires strict time management in balancing your professional and personal life alongside your academic responsibilities.

Name three personality traits of an EGMiM student?
