Ziqi Zhong is a PhD Candidate in Quantitative Marketing at LSE, fully funded by the Lee Family PhD Scholarship. His research explores how firms design sustainable, consumer-centric strategies through digital platforms, with a focus on privacy policy innovation, green positioning, and platform governance.
Ziqi’s methodological approach integrates behavioural and experimental economics, causal inference, applied AI, and neuroscience. His work has been presented at major conferences such as ISMS, EMAC, and AMA, with manuscripts currently in review stages at leading journals including the Journal of Marketing Research, Journal of the Academy of Marketing Science, and International Journal of Research in Marketing, as well as flagship AI conferences including AAAI and EMNLP. He was nominated for the LSE Impact Prize for Outstanding PhD Researcher Impact and has received multiple competitive research grants as principal investigator, including the Research and Impact Support Fund (RISF).
At LSE, Ziqi has taught across undergraduate and postgraduate levels and received the Class Teacher Award for Highly Commended Inspiring Teaching. He is also a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA).
Before his PhD, Ziqi worked as a Data Scientist at NetEase Games. He holds an MRes from LSE and a BEng in Cyber Security from the Cisco School of Informatics, Guangdong University of Foreign Studies, where he was an inaugural graduate of his programme and named one of the “Top 10 Persons of the Year.”
Beyond academia, Ziqi is passionate about experiential learning and discipline-based training. As a certified Master Instructor in both scuba and freediving, and the first Chinese person in Europe to hold both qualifications, he actively promotes marine conservation through teaching. He is also a trained amateur vocalist who received the Gold Prize at China’s National University Art Exhibition, and a dedicated practitioner of Kendo, a martial art that reflects his values of focus and continuous self-improvement.
