Congratulations to Dr Dorottya Sallai, Associate Professor (Education) of Management, who was awarded one of the inaugural LSE AI and Education Fellowships.

The Fellowships are a unique opportunity, empowering select LSE academics to explore in depth over the next two years how artificial intelligence can transform teaching and learning.

Speaking about her Fellowship, Dr Sallai said: “In the last two years I have been exploring how Generative AI (GenAI) impacts my courses, student learning, teaching, and assessment in higher education, but did not have the opportunity to redesign curriculum or initiate major changes in assessment.

“The fellowship will give me the necessary space to explore how GenAI may practically enhance management education in my own courses and across the Department of Management, such as rethinking content delivery and assessment in a way that supports students in their learning beyond productivity gains and protects them from bypassing the learning journey.”

Dr Sallai is one of 10 Fellows announced across the School, who will be exploring AI’s role in education within a wide range of disciplines and were selected from a pool of outstanding applications from across the School.

“I am most looking forward to the collaborative aspects of this fellowship—working with colleagues in the department and across the School and building relationships with employers.” Dr Sallai explained. “I'm excited that I will have the opportunity to develop new teaching approaches that are innovative but at the same time centred on the needs of students and educators.

“This fellowship presents a chance for me and my colleagues to shape management education in the age of AI while safeguarding our educational standards, providing students with the skills needed in today's changing labour market.”

The Fellowships were generously funded by Reid Hoffman, co-founder of LinkedIn and ManasAI.
