Indian Democracy's Ferocious Faultlines

This panel will focus on the underside of Indian democracy, as visible in, among other things, the insurgencies in Kashmir; a Maoist rebellion in the heart of India; growing inequalities between rich and poor; and the massively high rates of corruption within government.

Mukulika Banerjee is a reader in anthropology at the Department of Anthropology, LSE.
