Herd Behaviour and Keeping up with the Joneses

Monday 28 November 2011 | 1 hour 14 minutes 53 seconds

Herd behaviour is often natural and individually rational, but it has the potential to be disastrous for the group. In this lecture, Andrew Oswald will discuss human herd behaviour and its links to 'keeping up with the Joneses'.

Andrew Oswald is professor of economics at Warwick University, a visiting fellow at IZA Bonn and an editor of the journal Science.
