During Welcome Week, Professor Jo Braithwaite told us that the LLM would stretch and challenge us. It did just that! The LLM accords you an opportunity to grow academically, professionally and personally. It challenges your thinking and stretches your mind to limits you did not know existed. It is a fun experience too! I have loved studying in the heart of London, meeting amazing people and getting to interact with the brilliant minds of my fellow students and the LLM professors. This has definitely been an experience to remember!

The LSE Law School is well known both for its interdisciplinary approaches to legal scholarship and its contextual approach to legal study and teaching. Academics at LSE believe that to understand the Law, its function, and effects, it is essential to place it within the political, social and economic context within which it is formed and operates.

The identity of Law at LSE is inextricably linked to its geographical location in the heart of UK legal life. Our campus is adjacent to the Royal Courts of Justice and Lincoln's Inn, one of the four Inns of Court of which all barristers must be members. It is a short walk away from the Houses of Parliament, the offices of the largest global law firms, and regulatory bodies such as the Takeover Panel and the Financial Reporting Council.

The LSE LLM offered me exactly what I was looking for – a course that expanded my understanding of the challenges facing the world today, friendships with people from around the world, and being in the centre of the action in London. I really learned a lot not just from my professors and the classroom, but also from my peers and their experiences.

Career prospects

With a graduate degree from LSE you will be in an excellent position to pursue your career goals, and LSE will help you to actively realise your aspirations. Within the Law School, we host regular talks by partners of leading International and European Law firms who will present their practice and provide insights into some of the high profile cases they have been working on. These events are often followed by a drinks reception where you will have the opportunity to meet members of the Law firm and discuss what working for the firm involves in an informal atmosphere.

LSE also has a Careers Service to facilitate your transition from education to employment and give you guidance on employment opportunities and the skills needed to succeed in the marketplace. Careers consultants will be at hand for one-to-one meetings in the Law School to provide help in developing your CV and cover letter. In addition, the LSE Careers Service runs regular careers fairs, seminars, conferences and presentations.
