CIVICA Engage Track Programme 2026/27
Applications are now open for LSE students to take part in the CIVICA Engage Track programme for the 2026/27 academic year. Applications will be open from 20 October-9 November 2026.

What is the CIVICA Engage Track?
The CIVICA Engage Track is an extracurricular programme open to LSE undergraduate students and across the CIVICA European University Alliance. The programme offers a unique opportunity to combine academic learning with civic engagement and international collaboration. Through participation in approved courses, engagement activities and networking opportunities across the CIVICA alliance, you will explore real-world societal challenges while developing skills that employers and communities value.
Whether you are passionate about sustainability, social justice, public policy, education, culture or community action, the CIVICA Engage Track enables you to connect your studies with meaningful civic engagement and become part of a European network of engaged students. The programme is designed for students who want to contribute to society, gain international experience and develop as future leaders and changemakers. Based on the current programme structure, participants complete academic and engagement components and submit a final showcase assignment.
What does completing the CIVICA Engage Track involve?
To successfully complete the CIVICA Engage Track programme, LSE undergraduate students must complete three elements over the duration of their degree:
1- Complete a CIVICA Engage Track approved course at LSE. These are courses that have been approved as part of the CIVICA Engage Track programme and reflect themes such as civic engagement, European values, sustainability, social justice, public policy, education, culture or community action.
Contact our coordinator to receive the list of approved courses at LSE for 2026/2027.
2- Complete one of the following options:
Option A: Take part in CIVICA European Week
An annual academic week-long programme held at a CIVICA university in June each year. You will work with students from across Europe on programmes designed to foster dialogue on key European issues, civic engagement and cooperation.
OR
Option B: Take part in an Exchange Year Abroad at a CIVICA Partner University
You can complete your third year abroad at one of our CIVICA partner universities: Bocconi, IE University, the National University of Political Studies and Public Administration (SNSPA), Sciences Po, SGH Warsaw School of Economics or Stockholm School of Economics. Whilst studying at your partner university, you will have to complete a CIVICA Engage Track approved course at the institution as part of the Engage Track requirements.
3- Complete your final Showcase Assignment.
To successfully complete the Engage Track programme and receive your certificate, you need to produce a reflective piece for your final Showcase Assignment, which is a piece of work that demonstrates your personal and academic development throughout the programme.
LSE students are required to complete the Showcase Assignment in the form of a presentation and will apply to present their work at the annual LSE Interdisciplinary Student Research Conference. The conference takes place in June each year.
Who should apply?
We welcome applications from LSE undergraduate students in their first or second year of study who have a strong interest in civic engagement, European issues and collaborating with peers outside of LSE. The programme is an additional requirement and requires commitment and active participation in all elements. Applications for participation in the programme are competitive.

All participants who successfully complete the programme will receive a certificate from the CIVICA Secretariat.
You will also:
