About us

Who We Are

The International Strategy and Academic Partnerships (ISAP) team leads on the institutional management of LSE’s global academic engagement. We develop and manage strategic partnerships with world-leading universities, create innovative student mobility opportunities, and support collaborative, high impact research that addresses global challenges.

We work closely with colleagues across the School - including academic departments, Student Recruitment and Study Abroad, Research and Innovation, Summer School, Global Programmes, Life-long Learning, Alumni Relations - to support and implement the work of the International Strategy Board and ensure a coherent, School-wide approach to international engagement.

Our Goals

ISAP supports LSE’s international strategy through several core areas of work:

  • Delivering LSE’s International Strategy
We manage the rollout of the School’s International Strategy, with dedicated team members working across ISAP, Philanthropy and Global Engagement (PAGE), service divisions, and academic departments to embed global priorities in the School’s activities.
  • Strengthening LSE’s Global Standing
We help enhance LSE’s visibility and reputation internationally - including relationships with key partners, and communicating LSE’s distinct role as a world-leading social science institution.
  • Establishing Strategic Education and Research Partnerships
We implement two key pillars of LSE’s International Strategy: Education collaborations - expanding opportunities for international study and global exchanges through collaborative degrees, exchanges, double degrees and more - and Research Partnerships, which build collaborations to advance LSE’s academic ambitions and raise the School’s global profile.
  • Expanding LSE’s Academic Offer
We work with departments to broaden LSE’s academic portfolio through collaborative degree programmes and mobility pathways that prepare students for an increasingly globalised employment landscape.
  • Facilitating Collaborative, World-class Research
We support the development of joint research that speaks to our Campaign and International Strategy priorities and addresses major global challenges affecting societies around the world.
  • Coordinating Internal Collaboration
We foster strong collaboration with teams across the School - including Student Recruitment and Study Abroad, Research and Innovation, Summer School, Global Programmes, Lifelong Learning, Legal, Planning, Corporate Engagement, Alumni Relations and Philanthropy - to ensure a joined up, strategic approach to international partnerships.
