The Department works closely with LSE Careers to give you opportunities to explore your professional development.

Join dedicated IR Careers Consultant Aysha Abdul-Khader for regular careers events to hear more about career planning, your options, and how you can make the most of your time at LSE. Please note that booking in advance is essential.

    Winter Term appointment times:

    Every Tuesday and Thursday 2.00pm-5.00pm (online or on campus)

    Ringfenced IR slots online in Weeks 2-3 on Mondays from 10:30-12pm and W4 from 1:30-3pm

    Also dedicated online appointments for students who are applying for the EU Commission Blue Book in Weeks 5-8 from 2.45pm-4.30pm on Fridays (these will be run alongside the consultant from the European Institute so there will be availability on other days)

An opportunity for International Relations students to learn from and ask questions of IR alumni, experienced in working in government in different countries.

IR Alumni Networking Event
Thursday 12 March 2026 6.00-7.45pm

Room: Shaw Library, Old Building
IR alumni will be available in person, to share their professional insights and answer questions you may have about their careers, their firms and their sectors. An opportunity for International Relations students to network in a relaxed environment, with London based IR alumni.
