Language course subsidy scheme

Both undergraduate and taught postgraduate IR single honours students can apply for a 50% reduction in fees for a Language Centre non-degree course.

The vast majority of non degree language courses commence in week 4 of the Autumn Term which is the week commencing Monday 20 October 2025.

As both the Government and International History Departments run separate language course subsidy schemes, joint honours students are not eligible to apply to the International Relations subsidy programme.

Please note: the Department will confirm to the Language Centre those who are eligible for funding. They will take this subsidy into account when asking you to pay the fee for your non-degree modern language course via the School's payment portal.
