Outputs & Timeline
What the project produces
Pakistan 2047 will deliver two principal outputs:
• The four scenarios and their policy implications, intended for policymakers, institutions and the wider research community.
• A series of accessible videos that translate the findings for a broad public audience, in Pakistan and beyond.
Both will be completed by August 2027.
Who it is for
The work is designed to reach policymakers and institutions, the academic community, the Pakistani diaspora, and the wider public — each engaged on their own terms, from detailed policy analysis to material made for a general audience.
Timeline
The project began in March 2026 and is organised in five phases, with the public launch in August 2027.
• Phase 1 · Framing the Inquiry (March–May 2026) — Defining the central question, mapping the forces shaping Pakistan’s future, and identifying the critical uncertainties.
• Phase 2 · Structuring the Scenarios (June–September 2026) — Building the scenario framework and developing the four contrasting futures.
• Phase 3 · Deepening and Stress-Testing (October 2026–January 2027) — Adding sectoral depth and testing each scenario for rigour and plausibility.
• Phase 4 · Synthesis and Publication (February–July 2027) — Finalising the narratives and producing the report, visuals and public-facing materials.
• Phase 5 · Launch and Dissemination (from August 2027) — Public launch in London and Islamabad, media engagement, and continued dialogue.
