About
Marcello is a Research Fellow in Health Economics in the Health, Organisation, Policy and Economics (HOPE) group at the University of Manchester. He is also a Visiting Fellow in the Department of Health Policy at LSE, having previously worked in the Department as a Fellow.
His research examines how patients, health professionals, and the public value healthcare and respond to policy, and the political and institutional forces that shape those policies. He works with choice modelling, survey design, and applied econometrics. Marcello is Chief Investigator of the VaxPref project, a survey running across 22 countries and 14 universities on preferences for vaccination campaigns and attitudes towards vaccination. Before his PhD at the University of Newcastle (Australia), he worked in the health reform advisory team at the Chilean Ministry of Health.
