LSE Living Lab Action Projects

LSE Living Lab Action Projects encourage the wider LSE community to engage with the LSE Living Lab or support the implementation of more sustainable food systems on campus.

Unlike Research Projects, they do not require an academic or research component. However, they must engage the LSE community with the work of the LSE Living Lab or support the implementation of more sustainable food systems on campus. Where possible, they should aim to create meaningful and lasting impact on campus.

Action Projects can take many forms, from one-off events to ongoing initiatives, exhibitions, campaigns and short films, focus groups and more.

There is a total of £10,000 of funding available for Action Projects. There is no fixed limit on funding requests, however, Action Projects are typically funded up to a maximum of £1,500.

Proposals can be submitted by LSE students and staff, either individually or as part of a team.

Applications will be reviewed by the LSE Living Lab team to assess feasibility, community need, impact and outcomes.

Applications for the first round of LSE Living Lab Action Project funding are now open. The deadline for proposal submission is 31 July 2026. Applicants will be contacted by the LSE Living Lab team within four weeks of the submission deadline.
