The Global School of Sustainability (GSoS) has moved to a new office space on the 5th Floor of the St Clements building, a central location within the LSE campus, providing room for its growing community.

Since launching in 2025, GSoS has been establishing a team and delivery model, recently welcoming five GSoS LSE Fellows and four GSoS Assistant Professors based in academic departments - as well as developing our core programmes of work in which many LSE departments and research centres are involved. The move to St Clement's represents an important milestone for GSoS's development and creates a shared space to support its expanding interdisciplinary staff network and enable its role to address complex sustainability challenges.

To celebrate the office move, GSoS commissioned a mural from Paint the Change, a charity that brings together social action, community and street art. Creating the mural served as an imaginative way to unify the team, connecting offices along a central corridor, as well as injecting some colour into an otherwise dark space.

The artist Maxime Thabart created the concept and led on the painting of the mural - representing the complexity of the Global School of Sustainability, the different shapes are interchangeable but work together to reflect the five different research themes.

“We commissioned the mural from Paint the Change because their values reflect the collaborative and inclusive culture we want to foster at GSoS. Inviting our team to get involved in the painting of the mural was a fantastic way to mark the move", said Harriet Carter, School Manager of the Global School of Sustainability.

Franziska Funke, GSoS LSE Fellow based in the offices said: "It's been wonderful to see the team come together in the new space. Having a bigger office encourages opportunities for informal conversations and more collaboration among colleagues."

GSoS is looking forward to welcoming researchers and policy staff, students, and our growing network of stakeholders to the new and improved space.

GSoS would also like to thank the Planning and Estates teams for their work in renovating the space and creating the facilities needed to support GSoS's next phase.
