Fawaz Gerges (@FawazGerges) is Professor of International Relations at LSE and author of Making the Arab World: Nasser, Qutb, and the Clash That Shaped the Middle East.

John Sidel is the Sir Patrick Gillam Professor of International and Comparative Politics at LSE.
