Meet our speaker and chair
Lila Ibrahim (@lilaibrahim) is Google DeepMind’s Chief Operating Officer, driving the strategic direction of how the company operates and engages with external partners. As COO, she oversees the AI company’s partnerships, social impact, external affairs, ethics an responsibility, legal, communications, and government relations. In 2023, Time Magazine recognized Lila on its inaugural list of The 100 Most Influential People in AI.
With 30+ years of experience working in senior positions as an engineer and technology executive, Lila developed deep expertise in emerging markets, including the Middle East, Africa, and Asia. She has spent her career building effective organizations and pioneering products to benefit the world.
Cosmina Dorobantu (@CosDorobantu) is Senior Adviser to the LSE Data Science Institute and Visiting Professor in Practice at LSE. She is the winner of the 2025 UK AI & Robotics Research Community Award for her significant contributions to the AI policy landscape. Cosmina co-founded and co-directed the Public Policy Programme at The Alan Turing Institute, which helped over 100 public sector organisations and gained national and international recognition for its pioneering work on AI for government.
