Angelos Angelou obtained his PhD from the LSE European Institute in 2020. His thesis examined the European Commission's approach to sovereign debt restructuring during the early phases of the Eurozone crisis. His research focuses on the management of financial crises by international organisations, while he has also written on the political economy of reforms. During his time at the LSE he has acted as the co-convenor of the Europe@LSE seminar series and was also a member of the LSE's Research Degree Sub-committee. Since November 2020, he is a Visiting Fellow at the LSE's European Institute. Outside academia, Angelos has worked for the European External Action Service in the field of multilateral diplomacy.
