Graduate Teaching Assistant application

PLEASE READ CAREFULLY BEFORE COMPLETING THIS APPLICATION FORM.  Complete the form below as fully as possible.  *New applicants* ONLY should forward the Reference Request Form for completion by their referee.  (*A new applicant is someone who has not previously worked as a Graduate Teaching Assistant in the Department.)

If you are an existing GTA, applying for a renewal of their teaching contract, the reference is not required.

For further information about the courses that are taught, please see the Undergraduate Course Guides.

Closing date to submit your application: 7 June 2019

For any questions, please email econ.teaching@lse.ac.uk.

Note: All newly appointed GTAs are expected to attend a short series of full-day and half-day training workshops before commencing teaching.  Attendance is compulsory.  Your appointment will not be confirmed until you have attended these workshops.  It is essential that you have good spoken English to work effectively as a GTA.  If English is your second language, your spoken English will be assessed at the training workshop.  If necessary, you will be asked to attend English for Teaching Purposes support classes at the School’s Language Centre.
