Economic History Undergraduate Programmes

Economic historians study the factors that drive economic development and how past economies have changed, focusing on practical questions about real economies - why some countries are rich and others poor, what forces shape inequality and what historical experience reveals about current global economic developments and crises.

You will join our welcoming and vibrant research community seeking to understand these questions. You'll learn the skills of economists and historians, and by the end of your degree, you’ll produce new research in economic history.

Over the course of your programme you will develop a unique combinations of skills, including the ability to write persuasively, analyse data and research independently, opening up a wide field of career opportunities.
