About me

Dr Wang is a Professor in Comparative Literature and Translation Studies. She is also a Ph. D supervisor, Deputy Director of Australian Studies Centre, Department of Foreign Languages and Literatures, Tsinghua University; Vice President of the Association of Comp-Literature and Transcultural Studies of CAFL, and Vice President of the Association for Bilingual Studies of Chinese Classics.

She specializes in cultural translation, Australian Studies, Intercultural Communication and World Literature. Her book publications include Foreigner Forever: On J.M. Coetzee (2010) and a dozen of other books on English Language learning and English academic writing. She is also a translator of several books on critical theory, cultural studies and Chinese arts, such as Latest Essays by J.M. Coetzee(2019), J.M. Coetzee: A Life in Writing (2017), Biography of C.S. Lewis (2017), Postmodernism and Popular Culture (2010), J M Coetzee’s Foe (2008), Agatha Christie’s Lord Edgeware Dies(1997), and The Art of Chinese Couplets (from Chinese to English)(2016). She is the author of more than 40 essays on literature and culture published in English, Chinese and Dutch, and has given lectures and conference talks in the US, UK, Australia, Norway, Italy and Russia. As a literary critic, she also publishes widely on leading Chinese newspapers about canonical writers in world literature. She has also presided over several international conferences, lectures as well as national and international research projects on literary and intercultural studies.
