Dr Anni Kajanus is a specialist in the anthropology of China, her research interests include morality, cognition, migration, family and education; her most recent work examines the dynamics of human cooperation, conflict and competition from cognitive anthropological perspective.
Anni’s ongoing research, funded by the European Commission Marie Curie-Sklodowska Fellowship and the Leverhulme Early Career Fellowship, brings together methods and approaches from anthropology and psychology to compare the cooperative and conflict behaviours and motivations of children in different communities in China, in the US and in the UK. Anni received her PhD in Anthropology from the University of Helsinki in 2014. Since then she has held postdoctoral fellowships at the Department of Anthropology, LSE, and the Department of Psychology, Harvard.
Anni has taught courses in Anthropological Theory, Anthropology of Kinship and Personhood, Fieldwork Methods, and China in Comparative Perspective.
