Applications open for FLIA Creatives in Residence

The Creatives in Residence Programme brings Africa’s vibrant creative industries into dialogue with the LSE’s world-leading academic community, creating new and compelling ways to communicate about social science. By fostering collaborations between artists and academics, the programme explores how creative practice can be used to convey complex issues, communicate research, and engage wider audiences.

Each Creative in Residence is affiliated with the Firoz Lalji Institute for Africa for an initial one-year term, with the possibility of renewal with applications invited through an annual open call.

Applications are open to anyone of African nationality, or of African descent.

To apply, please send in previous examples of your work, a proposal on the project that you plan to undertake during the fellowship, and a summary of the outputs you hope to produce by the end of the fellowship to Mark Briggs via m.a.briggs@lse.ac.uk

Proposals could align (but are not retricted to) FLIA’s research themes, LSE’s five strategic themes, gaps in these themes, FLIA research projects, or our Summit theme of reparations.

Successful applicants must be able to spend time in London to integrate themselves into the intellectual community of the Institute.

The deadline for applications is 7 October.
