About me

Ploutarchos is currently a post-doctoral researcher in the Department of Psychological and Behavioural Science, where he is involved in PERISCOPE, a Pan-European research project on the behavioural aspects of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Ploutarchos holds a BA in Psychology from the Univerity of Ioannina (Greece) and a MSc in Cognitive & Decision Sciences from UCL (United Kingdom). He obtained his PhD in Medical Decision Making at Imperial College London (United Kingdom). His research investigated the effects of a diagnostic decision aid on clinical reasoning, assessing different aspects of the diagnostic process in Primary Care including information search, information evaluation, diagnostic confidence and change of judgement. The research specifically explored potential de-biasing effects of diagnostic suggestions, provided early in the clinical consultation, in order to optimise such interventions and support medical diagnosis.
