Professor Kevin Featherstone awarded Honorary Doctorate by the University of Nicosia

Professor Kevin Featherstone, Emeritus Professor (EI, LSE) and Research Affiliate of the Hellenic Observatory, has been awarded the degree of Doctor of Philosophy (honoris causa) by the University of Nicosia, in recognition of his“outstanding contribution to European Politics and Greek Studies.”

The honour was conferred during the 2026 Graduation Ceremony of the University of Nicosia’s School of Law on 22 June 2026, attended by graduates, academics and distinguished guests from Cyprus and abroad. The ceremony and the award of the Honorary Degree received coverage in the Cypriot press.

This latest distinction follows a series of prestigious honours, including the Grand Commander, Order of the Phoenix of the Hellenic Republic (2021), an honorary doctorate from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (2022), Honorary Greek Citizenship (2023), and an O.B.E. in 2025 for his ‘services to academia and UK-Greece relations’.
