The big four challenges of Athens

Interview with Ricky Burdett published in eKathimerini

Athens is a complicated city, densely built, with very few green spaces and the biggest ratio of car ownership in Europe. It that has survived multiple crises and come through with renewed vigor, seeking to reconnect with its future.

LSE Cities director Ricky Burdett talks to Giorgos Lialios of Kathimerini about the work of the Athens Urban Age Task Force to conincide with the Athens Urban Age Forum.

The task force is an initiative which for the past two years has explored key areas of urban intervention, under three themes: greening and public space, sustainable transport and walkability, and liveability and equity.
