Dr Laia Maynou-Pujolras is a LSE Fellow in the Department of Health Policy and is a member of the Executive Board of the Spanish Health Economics Association. She joined the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) as a Research Officer in December 2016 working on a Health Foundation project with Professor Alistair McGuire and Dr Victoria Serra-Sastre. She is also an Associate Researcher at the Centre for Research in Health and Economics (CRES-UPF) at Pompeu Fabra University.
From September 2013 to September 2015, Dr Maynou was a Research Fellow at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine (LSHTM), participating in the European ADVANCE-HTA project. From September 2015 to December 2016, she was a Visiting Lecturer at the Department of Economics and Business at Pompeu Fabra University (UPF).
Dr Maynou's research focuses on health economics, in particular Health Technology Assessment (HTA), public policy evaluation, technology diffusion and economics, and health inequalities. All these fields of research are analysed from an empirical perspective. She is currently involved in two main projects, mainly on data manipulation and econometric analysis:
- NIHR project: “Identifying models of care to improve outcomes for older people with emergency and urgent care needs” with Professor Simon Conroy and Professor Andrew Street.
- Health Foundation Grant: “Health Care Technology Diffusion in the NHS and workforce impact” with Professor Alistair McGuire and Dr Victoria Serra-Sastre.
