About me

Hitoshi is a Research Assistant in Behavioural Science, specialising in human-AI collaboration and the future of work. His research examines how AI tools reshape workplace cognition, with particular focus on phenomena such as "metacognitive laziness" and "workslop".

He holds a BSc in Psychology and Language Sciences, as well as an MSc in Cognitive and Decision Sciences, both from UCL. His previous research has employed diverse methodological approaches, including experimental psychology, neuroimaging, and quantitative analysis using regression models. His recent work investigated how AI-generated summaries can enhance task performance when accurate, while fluently presented misinformation can distort people's confidence in their own judgement.

With strong academic expertise and a position within the demographic commonly referred to as Generation Z, Hitoshi brings research-grounded insights to advance TII's understanding of the factors that enhance inclusion in AI-augmented workplaces. His dual perspective enables him to bridge academic findings with the lived experiences of younger workers, contributing to TII's mission of bringing together industry, academics, and stakeholders to exchange ideas and build partnerships on the future of work.
