Widening participation: return to on-campus events!

Our Pathways Programmes are run in partnership with the Sutton Trust, and recently, the Widening Participation team saw two cohorts of the Pathways to Law and Pathways to Banking and Finance programmes return to on-campus events for the first time since March 2020.

The schemes work with bright Year 12-13 London state school students from backgrounds under-represented in Higher Education, to widen access to highly selective universities and the legal and financial sectors. LSE have been working with the Sutton Trust for over 16 years, and we are very proud of the collaborative work we do.

We welcomed an average of 50 students at each event for their Mock Assessment Centres. The events focused on giving students an insight into graduate recruitment processes in the legal and financial sector. Students enjoyed contributions from LSE Careers external volunteers, from top Law and Financial firms.

We would like to thank the LSE Careers team for their continued support of the programme by providing students with information, advice, and guidance on these opportunities. We would also like to thank all the professional services staff who supported the events from across our School, including those from Catering and IT who ensured their smooth running.

We look forward to continuing to welcome students on to campus in the coming months.
