Speaker

Romalyn Ante

Join poet Romalyn Ante on an evening of an author's talk and discussion on her debut novel, The Left-Behind Child (Chatto & Windus).

The Left Behind Child is a story of an eleven-year-old girl, Neneng, who had to overcome the pressure and pain of growing up when her mother, Rosa, left the Philippines to work as a nurse in Oman and the UK. It is a story about sacrifice, family, and how distance and time can shape our relationships with others and with ourselves.
