About me

Aung Hein is a DPhil in Public Policy candidate at the Blavatnik School of Government in the University of Oxford. His doctoral research focuses on the management of public organizations, specifically the socialization of newly recruited civil servants in Nigeria and Ghana. He has multiple years of experience leading policy research and advocacy programs, advising the subsequent governments of Thein Sein and National League for Democracy administrations during the brief ten-year period of democratization in Myanmar.

Aung holds a Master in Public Affairs (MPA) from Princeton University’s School of Public and International Affairs as well as a master’s degree in international political economy from the University of Kent. He was a Coro Fellow in Public Affairs in the U.S. in 2010-11. He loves the outdoors and is a football enthusiast.
