Reflecting on a Standout Autumn Term at SPP
As the autumn term comes to a close at the School of Public Policy, it’s a moment to reflect on a period packed with learning, debate and community.
The term began with Welcome Week, as we opened our doors to new students and set the tone for the year ahead. Since then, students have taken part in a rich academic programme, including lectures, policy-in-practice seminars, professional skills sessions and masterclasses, all designed to connect theory with the realities of policymaking.
Alongside this, we were honoured to welcome an exceptional range of global speakers to the School. These included Sanna Marin, former Prime Minister of Finland; Carolina Tohá, former Minister of Interior and Public Security of Chile; Vince Cable, former Leader of the Liberal Democrats; Ernesto Zedillo, former President of Mexico; and Barkha Dutt, Indian TV journalist and author. We also marked an important milestone with the launch of the London Consensus, bringing together colleagues, experts and partners for timely discussion and collaboration.
Beyond the classroom, the SPP community has been just as active. From faculty lunches and visits to Parliament, to pub quizzes hosted by our brilliant Womxn’s Network and the unforgettable APPS Boat Party, the autumn term has been full of opportunities to connect, unwind and build lasting relationships.
Thank you to our students, faculty, speakers and partners for making the autumn term such a success!
