LSE retains top spot in London in Complete University Guide 2027

We are delighted that LSE has once again been ranked the top university in London in the Complete University Guide 2027, retaining this position for the fifteenth consecutive year. The School was also ranked third overall among UK universities.

The rankings also reinforce LSE’s position as a leader in the disciplines that shape public policy. LSE was ranked number one in the UK for Social Policy and number two for Politics, recognising its excellence in tackling some of society’s most pressing challenges and generating research that informs policy and practice.

For students at the School of Public Policy, these rankings reflect the world-class academic environment in which they learn, research and engage with real-world policy challenges.

The Complete University Guide assesses universities across a range of measures including entry standards, student satisfaction, research quality, student support, continuation rates and graduate prospects.

The latest results continue LSE's strong performance across major league tables. The School was ranked top in the UK by The Times and Sunday Times Good University Guide 2026 and number one in London by the Guardian University Guide 2026.
