Reimagining journalism in the AI era
Speaker
Journalism is a vital part of the information society and politics. What are the risks and opportunities that AI brings to journalism? And how should the news media around the world prepare itself for the changes to come?
In this talk, Professor Charlie Beckett will discuss his new book, Reimagining Journalism in the AI Era, drawing on global research undertaken since 2018 with the LSE JournalismAI project.
Professor Charlie Beckett specialises in how journalism around the world is changing and its relationship to society and politics. Charlie is the founding director of Polis, the think tank based in the Department of Media and Communications at LSE, and director of the LSE JournalismAI project that works with news organisations around the world to help them use AI responsibly. Charlie's new book, Reimagining Journalism in the AI Era, is published by Routledge in Autumn 2026.
