Jonathan Birch wins the Nayef Al-Rodhan Book Prize 2025

LSE Philosophy Professor and Director of the Jeremy Coller Centre for Animal Sentience Jonathan Birch has been awarded the Nayef Al-Rodhan Book Prize.
The judging panel has chosen The Edge of Sentience: Risk and Precaution in Humans, Other Animals, and AI (Oxford University Press) by Jonathan Birch as this year’s Book Prize winner, and it has been awarded the £20,000 annual prize.
About the Prize
The Nayef Al-Rodhan International Prize in Transdisciplinary Philosophy brings together books that transcend academic boundaries, furthering our understanding of the key challenges facing the world today, and which may face us in the future.
