Zoé Barret is a PhD Student at the Department of Philosophy, Logic and Scientific Method. She uses concepts in the philosophy of cognitive science, especially attention and salience, to inform ethical and epistemic issues, notably in philosophy of science and feminist philosophy. She is interested in questions such as: how can we socially organise our scientific activity so as to account for our cognitive constraints (such as epistemic partiality)? Another is: what cognitive impact do certain policies that aim at gender equality (e.g. neutralisation / re-feminisation of the language) have, and thus, do they have their intended effects?
