Wilson Erumebor is a Visiting Fellow at FLIA, LSE. He is an economist specialising in structural transformation, productivity, labour markets, industrialisation and economic development in Africa.

Wilson is Principal Economist and Lead for Economic Transformation and Competitiveness at the Nigerian Economic Summit Group (NESG), where he directs research and policy engagement on long-term economic transformation, jobs, competitiveness and industrial development. He was the architect of the NESG Macroeconomic Report and has led major studies on jobs, productivity, entrepreneurship and industrialisation in Nigeria. He contributed to the development of Nigeria’s Vision 2050 and Medium-Term National Development Plan 2021 – 2025 and served as a consultant to the U.S. Department of State on Nigeria’s economic policy.

At FLIA, Wilson’s research focuses on the changing nature of structural transformation in Africa, with particular attention to productivity, employment, urbanisation and the future of work.

Wilson completed his PhD in Economics at SOAS University of London, where he also teaches Economic Development of Africa. His doctoral research examined structural transformation, productivity growth and employment in Nigeria, exploring how shifts in labour and output across sectors shape economic development outcomes.
