About
Tom is an MRes Economics student on the MRes/PhD Economics programme in the Department of Economics. His primary research interests are public economics, development economics, and environmental economics.
Before joining the Department, he worked as a pre-doctoral research fellow for Raj Chetty at Opportunity Insights, Harvard University, where he researched the causal effect of social connections on economic opportunity in the US using Facebook data. He was also employed as a consultant in the World Bank's Development Impact Evaluation Unit, and as an economist for the UK Government Economic Service.
Tom holds a BSc in Philosophy, Politics and Economics from the University of Warwick, an MPhil in Development Studies from the University of Cambridge, and a MASc Data, Economics and Development Policy from Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).
