Tom is an MRes Economics student on the MRes/PhD Economics programme in the Department of Economics. His primary research interests are public economics, development economics, and environmental economics.

Before joining the Department, he worked as a Predoctoral Fellow for Prof Raj Chetty at Harvard University, where he researched how people's social connections shape their economic opportunities using data from Facebook. He has also worked as a consultant at the World Bank's Development Impact Group, and as an economist in the UK Government Economic Service.

Tom holds a BSc in Philosophy, Politics and Economics from the University of Warwick, an MPhil in Development Studies from the University of Cambridge, and an MASc in Data, Economics and Development Policy from MIT.
