Simone is co-head of Global Investment Grade Capital Markets and Risk Management and co-head of EMEA Structured Finance. He is co-chair of the Firmwide Commitments Committee and a member of the Investment Banking Executive Committee.
Previously, Simone was head of Investment Grade and FICC Derivatives for financial institutions and corporates within the Investment Banking Division. Simone joined Goldman Sachs in 1997 as an analyst on the Mortgage and Principal Finance desk. In 1999, he moved to the FICC Derivatives Marketing team, and in 2001, he joined the Structured Solutions Group where he was responsible for southern Europe. In 2003, Simone was named co-head of the European Corporate Derivative Marketing team within IBD. In 2007, he was named head of financing for the Financial Institutions Group and assumed his current role in 2013. Simone was named managing director in 2005 and partner in 2010.
Simone earned a degree in economics from the Catholic University of Milano in 1995. In 1996, he was awarded a scholarship to attend the London School of Economics, where he earned an MSc in Finance and Economics. He is a member of the Advisory Board of the Data Science Institute at the London School of Economics.
