About

About

Simon has more than a decade’s experience in local and regional government, working closely with elected leaders on strategy, governance, economic development, public service reform and delivery. He was previously Chief of Staff to the Mayor of the West of England Combined Authority and held senior political and strategic roles supporting the Mayor of Bristol, Marvin Rees.

His interests include city leadership, devolution, public service reform and the practical capacity of institutions to turn political ambition into delivery. He is particularly interested in how cities can work collectively to influence the wider systems in which they operate, and in bringing the perspective of practitioners into debates about how cities and governments can work better.
