Dr Silvia Pepino is a senior executive, board director, and tech founder with over 20 years’ experience in global finance, central banking, technology, and sustainability. Drawing on her leadership roles and academic research, she studies how money, technology, and governance interact to shape the global political economy.

She earned her PhD in the International Relations Department at LSE, specialising in the Political Economy of International Money and Finance. She also holds the TRIUM Global EMBA from NYU Stern, HEC Paris, and LSE, and a BSc/MSc from Bocconi University in Milano.

Dr Pepino is the author of Sovereign Risk and Financial Crisis: The International Political Economy of the Eurozone (Springer, 2015), which explores how domestic and international political economy dynamics shape sovereign credibility in financial markets.

Over an extensive international career, she held senior executive positions in leading global financial institutions, both in the private and public sectors, including the Bank of England, JPMorgan, and Brevan Howard Asset Management.

She currently serves as Independent Board Director and Chair of the Remuneration Committee at BancoPosta Fondi S.p.A. SGR, one of Italy’s largest asset managers. She was previously an Independent Director and member of the Control, Risk and Sustainability committee at Saras S.p.A, a major energy company.

She is also the founder of GlobeEye, an award-winning start-up using satellite data and artificial intelligence for green finance, a European Commission recognition for the EU’s most promising women-led deep-tech companies. She also won the Standard Chartered Women in Tech award and was named among the Italian 2024 Inspiring Fifty Women in Tech, recognising the most influential women in technology.
